In the play, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth show similar characteristics. Both of them are greedy, selfish and violent. They both are power hungry and would do anything fulfill their ambitions, even if it means murdering innocent lives. Between the two, Lady Macbeth displays more strength and she plays the driving force that pushes Macbeth to go after his destiny, even though she manipulates and mocks him in the process. Lady Macbeth's character is demanding and she is ambitious, she will do whatever it takes to get what she wants. For example once she reads the witches' prophecy for her husband, she immediately resorts to murder to claim the throne. On the other hand, Macbeth's character exhibits more weak willed characteristics. He allows his wife to push him around, he even questions if murdering Duncan is the right thing to do.
